A short trip camping: Setting off into the pre-cordillera mountains

Camping in the mountains gets you close to nature and has its special delights. We offer from one night/2 days to four or five days going out from El Toyo in spring and early summer, or from the same or longer in the high Andes going out from Banos Morales.

Camping will always be near a river with pools for bathing on summer evenings. We make a campfire to cook on and sit round in the evening. The food is good and the location unimaginably beautiful and the weather in summer is usually faultless.

In late spring and summer there are flowers and birds and usually you will see a condor somewhere on the short trip.

  1. Will be in Santiago on March 16 & 17, 2012. On March 17th need to be at the airport for a 7:00 p.m. flight (need to be there 2.5 hours early, so at the airport by 4:30 p.m.).
    So, a couple of questions:
    1. Would it be possible to be back to Santiago for 4:30 on an overnight trip?
    2. What equipment do you supply and what would we need to bring?
    3. What would cost be for 3 adults?
    Gracias de Canadá

    1. Thanks for your comment. Yes we can be flexible about most things. I have sent you adetailed email – let me know if you need more info. Thanks. Rose

  2. Dear Rose,

We will be in chile from the 13th until the 17th October. We would like to do an overnight camping ride (just myself and my boyfriend 2 persons). Approximately what time would the ride finish if we did a one night trip? We plan to leave on a bus for Mendoza on the 17th in the morning so we would need to be back in Santiago the evening of the 16th. Do you have a ride available on the monday 15th finishing on tuesday 16th October? Would you be able to provide transport from santiago?

Is there a place for storage where we could keep our luggage when we leave to travel on horseback?

How much would it be for pickup/drop off overnight ride, rental of sleeping bags (and liners) etc?

    Many thanks for your help.
