Cerro El Plomo is snow covered all the year round
Cerro El Plomo is the most striking mountain in the cordillera range east of Santiago. It is a target for mountaineers and also a place of legends and history, especially that of the boy child sacrificed by the Incas and found in 1954. See the post on the Inca Mummy, June 6 2011.
Cerro El Plomo, 5430m, Andes cordillera, Santiago, Chile
It is possible to ride up El Cerro, but we do not take rides there ourselves. It is often possible to view from our rides this lovely mountain which retains its snow on the peak all the year round.
